Description
The Video Browser Project was instructed by the University of Technology in Vienna; Department Software Engineering. It shows the possibility of browsing the content of videos where similar scenes are clustered together in visual maps. Similarity between scenes means similarity in color, texture, edge features or temporal relationships. The visual maps are organized according to contextual as well as temporal features. For example the Video Browser allows for easily retrieving and comparing all corner-kick scenes in a soccer game, since these scenes will be identified to be more similar to eachother. Digital TV will allow using such tools. The future is in front of us!

This screenshot shows the view of the time and the content trees of the frames of the video after the frame with the timestamp 6.6 in the time tree has been clicked. After clicking on this frame the Video Browser looks for the corresponding frame in the content tree, which is the frame with the timestamp 6.8 (the one with the orange border). This frame has been selected in order to calculate similarity measures based on MPEG7 descriptions and it has been chosen as the best match.

The zoom functionality: In order to use the zoom in/out button the frames can be enlarged to obtain a better view of the frames.

This screenshots shows the help dialog and some detail levels of the example video with corresponding frames on the time and the content trees.
